PROJECT UPDATE

The Municipality continues to move forward with all three projects.

The Municipality was approved for 50% funding up to a maximum of $3.55 million from the Manitoba Water Services Board (MWSB) as part of their 5 year capital plan.  The funds are allotted for the Onanole Water Projects – Deer Road, Victor West, and Old Onanole.

However, the opportunity arose to make an application to the Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund for additional funding towards the project.  If approved, the project would be funded by the federal and provincial governments for 70%.  If approved, this funding would significantly reduce the per parcel amount.

To be eligible for federal funding, we cannot start the project.  We are currently waiting to hear if our application is successful.  Once we hear either way, we are ready to tender the project.  We are aiming for a spring 2027 construction start date.
