Short Term Rentals

On June 29th, 2022 Council passed the resolution to adopt By-Law 119 – STR Licencing.

A by-law to provide for the licencing and regulation of short-term rentals.

Any person(s) operating a STR prior to May 31st 2022 must apply for a STR Licence, each short-term rental must have its own licence. Once the application is completed in full (no exceptions) with all the required documentation received, a licence is issued subject to the condition the short-term rental complies with By-law 119.

Short-term Rentals operating prior to May 31st, 2022 and who have been issued a licence are required to apply for a Conditional Use Application.

As of June 1st, 2022 any new short-term rentals must apply for a Conditional Use application and receive approval before a licence will be issued.  

The Short-Term Rental Licence must be displayed in a visible area on the property and the Licence Number is to be included in all advertisements.
